  16.      The following text is taken from TEMPLE OF THE DOG and APPLE.

  25.      5 guys. Different hairdos. Different hi-tops. Different records. All 
  26. played different instruments....             Mother Love Bone.
  27.      We wrote a bunch of funny, crazy songs that made us stomp around +
  28. shake buttocks. We laughed and had the time of our lives.
  29.      The L.A. Contingent (serious people) took these songs seriously and
  30. bought us big dinners + told us stories about "Scarface" + "Chicks." We
  31. laughed, and went home to watch "The Big Picture" + "Spinal Tap." We
  32. laughed. 
  33.      Then, things got really seriously busy. We signed out autographs and
  34. became big business. We wrote more songs and dreamed big dreams, then...the
  35. Lakers failed to 3PEAT. Feeling devastated, we punished ourselves further by
  36. touring with The Dogs D'Amour (English Drunk Rock).
  37.      We spent the next year planning + preparing for the "Master Plan."
  38. Producers, new t-shirts, riding our bikes, new fruit drinks, + occasionally
  39. delving into masturbation and the Occult to keep our minds off baseball
  40. season (Otherwise known as the slow season).
  41.      Terry Date called us and said he talked G. + Curt Ass into making "The
  42. Record." It was time. San Francisco was 2 be our home 2 create "Apple." It
  43. was good. Earthquakes. Nintendo football. The Niners. The Bay Series. We
  44. laughed. Making records was fun.
  45.      Then, we waited. Plans were planned. We waited, and dreamed big
  46. dreams. Our good friend Andrew then left us 4 Olympus (Heaven). We cried.
  47.      "Apple" is all the time we spent together.

  54. Green River + Soundgarden
  55. 80's Seattle bands making huge sounds.
  56. Friends one + all with similar 
  57. Interests + a genuine respect for each other.
  58. Chris + Matt did things that amazed 
  59. Stone + Jeff and vice versa. Life was beginning.
  60. They had many common friends,
  61. One being musician/entertainer Freddie Prodigy
  62. Andrew Wood
  63. Who lived with Chris, worked with Jeff, + played an 
  64. Occasional acoustic set with Stone.
  65. Green River broke up + Andrew joined Stone + Jeff.
  66. ...Mother Love Bone. Life was great.
  67. Soundgarden made records, toured, rocked hard, 
  68. Flourished. Mother Love Bone
  69. made records + was on the verge of...
  70. And we all lost our beautiful friend, Andrew.
  71. The rest of us hung.
  72. Told stories. Helped each other. Laughed. Cried.
  73. Life was confusing.
  74. Chris wrote two amazing songs about Andy (SAY
  75. HELLO TO HEAVEN + REACH DOWN) + asked Stone +
  76. Jeff + Matt 2 record them. Yes.
  77. Life moves on.
  78. We jammed. Guitar wizard, master of animal sounds
  79. Mike came by. We did coffee. Ate huge 
  80. Carcass-less meals with Cyclops and drank with
  81. Septiem + the other Gods. Music
  82. Flowed, we got excited, played a show, wrote more
  83. Songs + Reeled in a(n) 10 pounder.
  84. ...In a good way. 10 songs. Spontaneous. Creation.
  85. Emotion. Very pleasing. Real music.
  86. No analyzing. No pressure. No hype. Just music
  87. To make music. Friends and a reason. Chemistry.

  95. TEMPLE OF THE DOG. TOTD was a tribute to Mother Love Bone singer Andrew
  96. Wood, who died of a heroin overdose the day before APPLE was supposed to
  97. be released.
